- A world-wide study of the FOWKE surname (and many of its spelling variations) edited and published by Ray Fowke, Papamoa, New Zealand. Ray has been researching the Fowke surname for more than 20 years and has been publishing Fowke Family Tree at regular intervals since 1990.
This year, because the project has grown so large, the 7th Edition is contained within three books and these incorporate, not only research undertaken by the author, but also that of many other researchers from several countries. The three books contain 852 pages of names, basic data, biographies, family history and photographs, together with comprehensive indexes, notes and general background information. New material involves twenty-two more Trees than the 6th Edition, heaps of updated data including that of early Staffordshire families of England, many more photographs, some of early portrait paintings, and loads of biographies covering all centuries.
Book One (442 pages) contains family connections from 1403 to 2005, plus some data back to 925 but excludes descendants of James Fowke[s] (later Fookes and Fooks, etc) who emigrated from England to USA which are contained in Book Two (246 pages), and connections of Erasmus Samuel Fowke who emigrated from England to Canada which are contained in Book Three (164 pages).
NOTE: All descendants of Col. Gerard Fowke who emigrated from England to Virginia,
USA, in 1651, are contained in Book One.
